Shadow is a great companion. He's sweet and affectionate for both people and some other dogs, however, firm commands and gentle handling is a must for him. He will mouth if his collar is grabbed roughly. He has some separation anxiety and can't always decide if he wants to be inside or out, but structure and plenty of exercise would be a great help. He is an active dog and needs both mental and physical stimulation, not just left in a yard with another dog or taken to the dog parks. Hiking, running, or very long walks will suit his needs best.
The German Shepherd in him does not just appear in his coat he also has the protective tendencies of a Shepard. He needs a loving home who will continue to work with him with both gentle and firm guidance and one that has had previous Malamute / Husky / German Shepherd experience.
